Malvanegra Rosato

Protected Geographical Indication (IGP)

Rosé wine obtained from Primitivo grapes grown in northern Salento and the Murgia hills, in Puglia, on sandy and calcareous soils. The vineyards are between 15 and 25 years old and trained with a spur-pruned cordon system. Vinification involves destemming and cold maceration at 10-12 °C for 18-36 hours, alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature, racking and gentle pressing of the pomace, followed by malolactic fermentation in stainless steel. It has a light rosé colour with violet hints. On the nose it offers exotic fruit and subtle notes of ripe red fruit; on the palate it is fresh, savoury and mineral. Ideal with Italian starters, fish soup, roasted or baked fish, fresh or lightly aged cheeses. Serve at 10-12 °C.
